In Bern's old town, travellers still experience the same streets and alleys as they did hundreds of years ago. It is not without reason that the historic city centre has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1983. Another must-do excursion is on the programme in Emmental: In the show dairy, visitors learn everything about the traditional production of the famous hard cheese that conquered the whole world from the valley. The tour continues through the Entlebuch Biosphere Reserve to Switzerland's most romantic moated castle. After a visit to Hallwyl Castle, however, the next highlight of the journey awaits with Lucerne and the famous Chapel Bridge. Past Mount Pilatus, Tell's Chapel and Einsiedeln Monastery, the route then leads to Zurich, wonderfully situated on the lake of the same name.
