STAGE 1: FROM SALZBURG TO BISCHOFSHOFEN
A very good level of fitness is required on the first stage, as the route is demanding and has a total ascent of 540 metres in altitude. It leads from the starting point in Salzburg via Hallein, Golling an der Salzach, Salzachöfen, Hohenwerfen Fortress to Bischofshofen. With a total stage length of 58.1 kilometres, there are some sections with loose ground. On average, a duration of more than four hours can be planned for the pure travel time.
Tip: Plan your cycling tour extensively and also consider the many highlights along the way in your planning.
STAGE 2: FROM BISCHOFSHOFEN TO BAD GASTEIN
The second stage of the Alpe-Adria Cycle Path takes you from Bischofshofen 55.1 kilometres to Bad Gastein and is one of the difficult stages due to a total ascent of 1200 metres in altitude. The easy to moderately difficult third stage leads for about 55 kilometres from Bad Gastein to Spittal an der Drau, past the Czernin hunting lodge and through the Tauern Tunnel, which is comfortably passed by train in just eleven minutes.
