The best and most beautiful way to explore the Lower Rhine is by bike. The Lower Rhine is not only a flat land, but owes its varied landscape above all to the water. Brook meadows or small canals border the pastures. The colourful hustle and bustle on the Rhine awaits the observer. Use our hotel-owned bicycles and tandems for an excursion - alone, in a group, with or without expert guidance. If that is too strenuous for you during your holiday, there are plenty of electric bikes available.

The fluffy animals with the smiling facial expression enchant young and old and provide moments of happiness. At the nearby Kalisto Animal Park you can get to know the cuddly alpacas and clear your head during a walk together. At the first and unique llama centre in Duisburg, llameros (llama guides) learn more about llamas and their way of life before you enjoy the friendly charisma of the animals on a guided walk.

Mining shaped the culture of the region for over 100 years. Many of the former industrial sites have been transformed into listed, attractive and alternative event & cultural venues. On the Route of Industrial Culture
you can experience the exciting industrial heritage of the Ruhr region live. Among the impressive sights on the route are the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein or the Duisburg Landscape Park where you can climb blast furnaces or experience cultural events such as open-air cinema. From the Zechenturm in the Zechenpark in Kamp-Lintfort, the region from the Ruhr to the Lower Rhine lies at your feet.

Kamp-Lintfort is located on the left bank of the Rhine between the Netherlands and the Ruhr area. The Kamp Monastery from the 12th century with its baroque terraced garden is famous beyond the region. In Moers there is the Moers Castle with its park and the County Museum and the old town. For 50 years now, the Moers Festival has taken place on the weekend of Pentecost, an international music festival in Moers on the Lower Rhine. For the festival's 50th birthday, the castle park, churches and unusual places in the city will once again become the stage in addition to the festival hall and open-air stage. The festival village will be enriched by creative start-ups, culinary excursions, street food and sustainable products and offers.

Other cultural events we recommend visiting are the Internationale Comedy Arts Festival, the Volkfest, Moerser Funfair at the beginning of September, the Parkfest, the Winzerfest in summer, the town festival "Moerser Herbst" and the Christmas market in Advent.
