Around the hotel

Monschau
Trip to Monschau

Only about 30 kilometers from our Romantik Parkhotel lies the beautiful Monschau. Right on the border to Belgium, an idyllic town like something out of a fairy tale awaits you here: medieval buildings from centuries long past stand out from rural natural sceneries and narrow alleys and shape the image of this unique place. The impressive Monschau Castle, which was already built between the 12th and 13th centuries, is a must-see especially for fans of historical buildings. But also the Red House, which is now used as a museum, is worth a visit. Popular within the cold season is also the small Christmas market of the historic town, which provides a cozy ambience between the old half-timbered houses. If you are planning a trip to Monschau, you can stay at our Romantik Parkhotel am Hammerberg in Stolberg, for example, and get a comfortable B&B option close by.

Bike routes

Vennbahn
Vennbahn

The multi-award-winning Vennbahn cycle route crosses three European countries and, at a whopping 125 kilometers, is one of its longest railroad cycling routes. It starts in Aachen via eastern Belgium to the town of Troisvierges, which is located in the north of Luxembourg. Of course, the route can also be cycled in the opposite direction. Over the course of six stages, enjoy fascinating landscapes and sporting ambition in Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg, and explore the history of coal and iron ore. Before you grab your bike or even after you have completed the tour, you will stay comfortably in our Bed & Breakfast Parkhotel near Aachen.

Copper route
Copper route

Named after the history of Stolberg with its copper masters, the copper route is a popular destination for outdoor activities and discovery tours by bike or on foot. The route starts at the Alter Markt in Stolberg and crosses the city limits to Aachen. Along the way, you will climb the Hammerberg and pass the Binsfeldhammer quarry. You will also cross green forests in the Schlangenberg nature reserve with its pretty calamine flora. At Venwegen, the tour finally joins the Eifelsteig. Take advantage of the perfect location of our Romantik Parkhotel, grab your bike and your outdoor equipment and go exploring!

Water castles route
Water castles route

On the approximately 400 kilometer long Water Castles Cycle Route you can admire a whole 120 castles and palaces in North Rhine-Westphalia. The route leads via the city triangle of Aachen, Cologne and Bonn through the beautiful landscape of the Jülicher Börde to Heimbach near the Eifel National Park and back to the Rhine. In addition to medieval castles surrounded by beautiful landscapes, you can also make stops in major cities worth seeing and visit the Cologne Cathedral, for example. If you want to start in Aachen, our B&B accommodation nearby is a perfect starting point for your tour.
