In the historic heart of the world heritage city of Trier, the lovingly and lavishly restored Kultgasthaus welcomes its guests. On more than 1,000 years old foundation walls presents a gem of hospitality with 16 exclusively equipped rooms. The oldest and best-known inn in the city also serves excellent regional cuisine in the vaulted cellar deep below ground, the 800-year-old showpiece of the house.

The charming half-timbered house in the heart of the old town looks back on over 450 years of history, which the hosts still preserve today. After loving restoration and redesign, the house has again opened its doors to guests from all over the world since November 2016. Peter and Anne Brommenschenkel run the family business with heart and soul and continue the hospitality that has been a tradition in this place for centuries.

Our Wirtshaus zur Glocke, is an institution in Trier. It has been operated gastronomically since 1803 - until 1906 under the name "Zur wilden Gans". At the latest since the times of "Glocken-Jupp" in the 1970s, the Wirtshaus zur Glocke got its cult character. It is a popular destination for older regulars, students, families with children and locals as well as tourists. In addition to the popular regular menu of our house, we offer seasonally inspired specialties and also our weekly changing recommendation men

The foundation walls of our historic cellar date back to the 10th century fortification of the cathedral. Of this, some large-sized stone blocks can still be seen, from which one can infer an undated predecessor building. The cellar has a groined vault and was most likely used for wine trading in the past. Today you can enjoy regional specialties and a glass of wine from our large wine list in this historic ambience.

Coming from the train station, walk straight ahead. After the Balduin fountain, keep left and walk along Christophstraße until you can turn left, just before the Porta Nigra, into Rindertanzstraße. There you turn, walk through the Rindertanzstraße and turn right at the end into the Glockenstraße. You will find our Romantik Hotel & Wirtshaus zur Glocke in the house Glockenstraße 12 on the left side.

Coming from the A 1.
Coming from the A 1 from Koblenz or Saarbrücken, drive to the Moseltaldreieck.
At the Moseltaldreieck, take the A602 towards Trier and then take the Trier-Verteilerkreis exit.
In the Verteilerkreis take the first exit Herzogenbuscher Straße and follow it until you see the Porta Nigra at the end of Paulinstraße. There you take the left turn into Christophstraße and drive past the Porta Nigra. Immediately turn right into the next street (Rindertanzstraße) and at the end of this street you will find a public parking lot on the left. Here you can park your car. Turn right into the Glockenstraße (pedestrian zone). You will find our Romantik Hotel & Wirtshaus zur Glocke in the house Glockenstraße 12 on the left side.
