Enjoy your time out in our exclusive bathhouse in the listed Zehntstadel. A large whirlpool awaits you here, providing relaxation at a pleasant 36°. The family steam bath (textile) is also at your disposal.

In Neuburg-Bergen in Bavaria, guests can relax in the extensive monastery garden surrounded by greenery. In addition to a classic outdoor pool, there is also a natural pond with a wooden footbridge for cooling off. A panoramic sauna offers all-round relaxation in the monastery garden. At 80°C, the textile sauna offers a fantastic panoramic view of the natural pond and the monastery park.

In the hotel's modern fitness room, you can let off steam on Technogym equipment or on the various games and leisure facilities. A treadmill, a bike and an all-purpose strength machine are available for energizing morning exercise or training in the evening. For fun and games, there is a table football table, a pool table, table tennis and air field hockey.

Sonja-Schlamp-Bauer, herself a mother of two children, is an expert in swimming training and enjoys teaching your offspring how to swim. As a dedicated swimming coach and multiple German champion in synchronised swimming, she is guaranteed to show your children the right technique. Children from the age of 4 can take part in the swimming course.  

Whether you go on a hike on the Way of St. James from Bergen, enjoy nature on a horse-drawn carriage ride or let yourself be enchanted by the diverse vegetation of the Danube floodplain forests on a canoe ride on Europe's largest river: you decide how you want to experience nature during your holiday.

The cycling and hiking trails (including the Way of St. James) start right on the doorstep. They extend into the Altmühltal Nature Park and into the Danube valley with its pristine riparian forests. Free rental of bicycles and cycling maps to our hotel guests!
You want to know where fox and hare say "good night" to each other? Then join our guide on a night hike through the forest between Gietlhausen and Baring. After the walk, a hearty snack awaits you at the Romantik Hotel Klosterbräu.

In Neuburg a. d. Donau (near the Wittelsbach Golf Course), the new Audi driving experience centre has been built in recent years on an area of 47 hectares. The driving experience centre, just a few minutes' drive from our hotel, stands for customer enthusiasm and driving experiences. Starting this season, Audi driving experience offers everything for ambitious drivers and those who want to become one: sporty Audi models, spacious training areas and a varied circuit.

THE attraction for many children and horse-loving adults is our large paddock in the monastery park. We are happy to organise guided pony walks or joint rides on our Welsh and Shetland ponies in the Altmühltal Nature Park.

We are also happy to arrange for experienced riders to accompany you.

The course, masterfully designed by architect Joan Dudok van Heel, is located on the park-like pastureland of King Ludwig III's favourite stud farm, amidst more than 200 individual, ancient oaks and lime trees, at the gates of the old Palatinate-Bavarian royal seat of Neuburg an der Donau. The golf course covers an area of 67 hectares with a driving range, putting and pitching green. The slight bumps in the ground make it possible to adapt the tees and greens to the landscape in a demanding but playfully fair way. 

Our hotel guests receive a green fee reduction after prior reservation.

The East Bavarian Way of St. James leads pilgrims along historic paths towards Santiago de Compostela - from the Czech border via Regensburg into the Altmühltal Nature Park.

From Kelheim, the route passes the Weltenburg Monastery to Altmannstein and the Bettbrunn pilgrimage church. The pilgrim then passes the important religious centre of Eichstätt. From there, the route runs via the former monastery church of Bergen - the Romantik Hotel Klosterbräu - and the former imperial abbey of Kaisheim to the former free imperial city of Donauwörth. In Donauwörth, the East Bavarian Way of St. James meets the Bavarian-Swabian Way of St. James.

In the Altmühltal Nature Park, the East Bavarian Way of St. James is signposted in both directions with the scallop shell.
