The area around Brunegg is made for beautiful excursions in the region. A hiking highlight is the Gislifluh mountain at 772m. The sunset in particular can be admired very well from here. If you want a view, you can climb the steps of the Esterliturm near Lenzburg.

There are numerous beautiful mountain bike trails in the area around the hotel. One highlight, for example, is the Rüsler Trail, which is easy for everyone to ride. The Zeiher Homberg, a forested mountain in the northern Swiss Jura Mountains, is also recommended for a bike trip. The mountain peak is 782.4 m above sea level and offers a beautiful view of the Black Forest.

Bruneff is situated on the southern edge of the flat Birrfeld, a little more than 2km west of the Reuss and just under 2km northeast of the Bünz. The eastern flank of the Kestenberg rises steeply at the edge of the village. This foothill of the Kettenjura is up to 647m high and has a narrow rocky ridge that extends westwards over a length of 4km almost to the Aare.

Brunegg Castle

The castle, which dates back to the 13th century, is located about 120 metres above the village on a steep rocky spur at the eastern end of the Kestenberg ridge. It was converted into a residential castle and consists of the main castle with a residential wing from the 13th century, a garden from the 19th century and two farm buildings. Its famous residents include the Swiss historian Jean Rudolf von Salis and the Swiss writer Hermann Burger, who took his own life here on 28 February 1989. In 1988, the latter created a literary monument to the castle in his novel "Brenner", there referred to as "Brunsleben".

Wildegg Castle

Nearby, it invites you to discover. In its 3,300 sqm pleasure garden you can stroll, smell and marvel. At any time of year, the garden is an oasis for the senses.

Habsburg Castle

The Habsburg has been owned by the Canton of Aargau since 1804. It is the only castle in the canton with an independent restaurant. The western part of the former double castle is still preserved and is enthroned on the Wülpelsberg with a view of the Aare valley, the Schenkenberg valley and Eigenamt.
