Gruyére is a medieval picture book town on a small hill with the picturesque Gruyère Castle and less than 20 kilometres from the hotel. In the show dairy "La Maison du Gruyère" all the secrets of this PDO cheese are revealed! In Pringy-Gruyères, at the foot of the castle, this show dairy explains how Gruyère AOP is made. There is also an exhibition and a tasting.

The ski area of Charmey is suitable for all ages, as well as for beginners and advanced skiers. The gondola lift "Rapido Sky" is only a few metres away from the Romantik Hotel L'Etoile and will easily take you up to the Vounetz and the snow-covered mountain peaks. A total of 30 km of downhill slopes await you here, making their way through the Dents Vertes.

Friends of winter trend sports get their money's worth in the snow park. A special slope is available here for sledges and bobsleds. Look forward to moments full of excitement and fun! Marked hiking trails allow snowshoe walkers to hike safely in the mountains at their own pace. 20 km of cross-country ski trails lead cross-country skiers through the Jaun Valley. In the "Tzintre", at the end of Charmey, skaters can do their laps on the new ice rink.

Enjoy relaxation and wonderful wellness offers in the thermal baths "Les Bains de la Gruyère" in Charmey, only 200 metres away from Romantik Hotel L'Etoile. Here you can enjoy two indoor and outdoor pools with a water temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius. These are equipped with numerous water features such as a waterfall, splash showers, water jets and jets, whirlpools or bubble benches. The SPA area of the Bains de la Gruyère also offers a comprehensive treatment programme with massages and packs from all over the world.
