This monument was built at the end of the 19th century in the heart of the Valmy wine-producing estate. It was designed by the Danish architect Viggo Dorph-Petersen whose work was greatly appreciated by the rich families in the Roussillon region. Under a red-tiled roof decorated with ceramics, the château, built for the minister Jules Pams, was visited by Marshal Joffre and many other famous names at the beginning of the 20th century. Valmy has now been fully refurbished and has spacious, well-equipped rooms enhanced by the park, swimming pool and whirlpool bath ensuring a highly relaxing break for guests.
